Orange Story: Community Stories

Orange provides stability to its five communities. It has become the hub around which Moreland Hills, Pepper Pike, Hunting Valley, Orange, and Woodmere revolve. Community members enjoy visiting the campus and interacting with students.

The stories posted below reflect some of the opportunities students have to learn from helping others, lead by example and make a difference in their community.

Friday Night's (1/12) Performance of Stagecrafters' "The Little Mermaid" Rescheduled!

Due to weather conditions and the closing of the Orange Schools campus, tonight's (Friday, 1/12) Stagecrafters' performance of "The Little Mermaid" is being RESCHEDULED for Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Orange High School Auditorium. This performance is in ADDITION to Saturday's (1/13) performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Orange High School which WILL go on as scheduled at this time. Read more...

Making a Difference by Making Change

Moreland Hills Elementary School students are making change to make a difference. Students and their families collected more than $1,300 in loose change to donate to Honor Flight Cleveland as part of the Coins for Courage drive.  Read more...

 OHS Athletics is partnering with "Varsity Coats for Needy Folks" in an effort to collect winter coats for Clevelanders in need.  Free admittance into this weekend's OHS JV and Varsity Basketball games will be offered to anyone who donates a gently worn adult-size winter coat. Read more...

BMS Youth in Government Delegation Excels at State Conference

Congratulations to the BMS Youth in Government Team which excelled at the Ohio Conference in Columbus last week! Fifty students participated in the three-day conference with 240 sixth thru eighth grade students from all around Ohio. 19 of the the students' 24 bills passed through committee and made it to the House or Senate floor with two bills being signed into law! OCER Hosts Charles Holloway Memorial Car Wash

OCER hosts a Memorial Car Wash this Friday, 7/14 from 11a-2p at PPLC, in memory of Mr. Charles Holloway, a custodian at MHS who took pride in ensuring a positive experience for each and every child who passed through the school doors. Orange High School '98 grad and NY Times Bestselling Author Jessica Fechtor returned to her Orange roots this week where she shared her story, her writing talents, and her incredible baking skills with OHS students and staff. Her memoir Stir includes many of the favorite recipes she created as part of her healing journey after she nearly died when an aneurysm burst in her brain at age 28. Her story inspired OHS students. Orange Schools Receive Conditional Approval on State Testing Waiver

The Orange City School District application for a five-year waiver on state mandated testing has received “conditional approval” by the Ohio Department of Education. MHS Olympics Gets Gold Medal Honors

The Sochi torch may burn bright for another few days, but the flame has been extinguished in the first-ever MHS Olympics. Still, the spirit created by the week-long PTA-sponsored event will live on both emotionally and physically for the students as they continue to embody the values set forth... and as they enjoy the rock wall purchased through a successful school-wide fundraiser!
