Reflections Program - November/December/January

The PTA Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves artistically and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage). Entries are judged anonymously by independent experts from the community. At the Reflections Awards Ceremony on January 14 in MHS Cafeteria 2, all entrants will be recognized and all entries displayed. Top entries in each category are sent on to competition at the state level. Local entries have even advanced to the national level in past years. Each year, over one hundred Orange students participate.

To enter: Students take the first step by familiarizing themselves with the rules. Of the PDF files displayed here, every entrant should read the General Rules as well as the rules specific to the category or categories in which they will enter (e.g. photography or music composition). In addition, every entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form with a parent signature. Entry forms and rules are also available at MHS front office. Entries will be accepted during the week of January 4-7, 2010. Bring entries to the MHS front office or BMS Media Center in the half-hour prior to the beginning of the school day, or to the OHS Guidance Department. Questions and requests for printed copies should be directed toward Eileen McCully (216.765.8129 or mccullyhsi@hotmail.com).
