OHS Swimmers Excel at States
Twelve students represented Orange High School well in the State Swimming Championships held in Canton last weekend. The Orange Girls Swim Team placed 15th in the state. Swimmers earning All-Ohio honors included Kathryn Jordan, Jalyn Joseph, Kyle Seaman, Amanda Bluso, Carolyn Vekstein and Lauren Hurd. The Lady Lions established three new Orange relay records. Carolyn and Lauren finished in the top 16 in the 200 Free and 50 Free respectively.
Representing Orange High School in the 200 Medley Relay was the foursome of Jordan, Joseph, Seaman and Bluso for the girls and the foursome of Jack Nee, Daniel Wang, Jake Ritchen and Dave Wang for the boys.
Also representing Orange at the state championship was the 200 Free Relay team of Bluso, Seaman, Vekstein and Hurd and the 400 Free Relay team of Vekstein, Seaman, Bluso and Hurd. The girls' team finished the season undefeated in dual meets, as sectional champions and runner-up in the District competition.
