OHS Athletes Sign With Top Schools
Two Orange High School senior student-athletes participated in a signing ceremony Thursday, committing to two top universities on athletic scholarships in the fall.
The students are wrestler Hunter Auletta, who will compete on the Division I wrestling team at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, and Kenya Jones who will play volleyball for the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia.
Auletta is a four-year letter winner in wrestling and the 2012 Sectional Champion, District Runner-Up, and State Qualifier. Previously he was the 2011 North Coast Classic Champion, the 2011 Kalin Invitational Champion, and The Plain Dealer’s Wrestler of the Week. He also received a Chagrin Sun All East Mention and is on the honor roll with a 3.0 grade point average.
Jones not only received a First Year Award for volleyball, but is also a three-year varsity award winner for track. A winner of the Golden Lion Award, Jones is on the high honor roll and maintains a 3.2 grade point average.
Auletta and Jones join a group of other OHS student athletes who are receiving athletic scholarships to play their respective sports at universities throughout the country this fall. Friends, faculty and coaches were on hand to watch the students sign their letters of intent and congratulate them.
Congratulations to all of our wonderful student athletes!
