OrangeVision TV 1025 (EDU channel) is the Orange Schools education access cable channel. The majority of residents within the Orange Schools' boundaries are able to view OrangeVision if they subscribe to Time Warner Digital Cable. OrangeVision programming is also available online.
The channel's mission is to air programming produced by students or about students in the Orange School District. All materials are reviewed before they air. This channel is exclusively for Orange Board of Education use. Some of the programming has included safety public service announcements; interviews with students, a technology integration video and an inside look at our award winning transportation department. OrangeVision programming and postings will be in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the District.
Television Production I and II are offered at the high school and many of the programs airing on the channel are created by these talented students.
An initial donation from Adelphia Cable helped fund the construction of the Orange High School Television Studio while a donation from the Orange High School Alumni Association funded the equipment necessary to air programming. Use of Channel 1025 for OrangeVision costs nothing to the District because, as part of the Communication Act by the Federal Communication Commission, cable companies must allow for a free access channel for educational programming to local public schools.
The District has the right to refuse airing and posting of any materials at its discretion. All programming and postings must meet the District's television education access policies and guidelines, as well as, meet the criteria set by state and federal laws.
Due to the time and costs involved, copies of programming aired on OrangeVision cannot be provided.
