OHS 9th Grader Selected for International Science Fair!

Congratulations to OHS student Michael Litt '17 who was selected as one of the four Grand Prize Winners at the 61st Annual Northeastern Ohio Science & Engineering Fair (NEOSEF) held at Cleveland State University earlier this month! Nearly 500 students from more than 80 schools around Northeast Ohio competed for this distinction.

Michael's project was entitled "Statistical Filter for Capturing Trends in Noisy Data." He, along with the three other winners, will represent Northeast Ohio in the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in Los Angeles from May 11-16. Michael receives an all-expense paid trip for himself and a parent or teacher to attend the International Fair.

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, providing an annual forum for more than 1,600 high school students from more than 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research and compete for more than $4 million in awards.

The goal, according to Intel ISEF is to "unite these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talents on an international stage, where doctoral level scientists review and judge their work."

Congratulations on this distinctive honor, Michael, and good luck at the international competition!
