Orange High School Celebrates Homecoming This Weekend!


Orange High School celebrates Homecoming this weekend! 

Be sure to check out all of the exciting Homecoming events this week and weekend!

A special pre-Homecoming fundraiser is being held by the Alumni Association at Granite City Food & Brewery at Legacy Village all day Thursday, October 1st. Everyone is invited to dine in or get food to go from Granite City and present a special flyer (available here) to the server. Twenty percent of your total tab will be donated to the Alumni Association which provides scholarships and grants to students and student groups. Good food! Good cause!

Homecoming events Friday kick-off with a 5:30pm tailgate for all in the Courtyard area with an array of food options of which a portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Boosters. A reception for returning alumni hosted by the Orange Alumni Association will be held in the OHS Commons from 5:15-7pm. Members of the Association will get a free ticket to the football game and will have a special seating area reserved in the stadium. All alumni are welcome back with a special lion's roar to the members of the Class of 1965 returning this weekend to celebrate their 50th Reunion! The OHS Marching Lion Band and Lionettes will also be on hand to perform for the assembled crowd.

The Homecoming Court will be introduced on the field during pre-game events with the crowning at half-time. The 2015-2016 Court includes ninth grade attendants Haley Shedden and Eddie Harrell, sophomore attendants Jillian Szachury, Armaan Gill, and Caleb Zwick, junior attendants Senna Dweik and Abed Alsattar Adi with Senior Court members and Queen candidates Meeghan Barrett, Jasmine Harris, Samantha Milstein, Paige Resnick, and Hunter Weiss and King candidates Paul Achkar, Neil Agarwal, Eric Burguera-Couce, Kyle Kolb, and Milan Pittmon. Returning to crown the new queen and king are 1965 Homecoming Royalty Rev. Valerie White Stultz and Gary Graeff along with 2014 Queen Mariah Baez and King Zayn Dweik.

Kick-off is at 7pm against the Wickliffe Blue Devils.  Help the Cheerleaders to cheer on the Lions as they continue to build on their 4-1 record!

Homecoming festivities continue on Saturday, October 3rd at the Homecoming Dance from 7-10pm in the Orange High School Multi-Use Facility. The theme of this year's dance is "We're Going On A Trip..." and tickets must be purchased in advance during lunch periods through Friday. All dance forms must be signed and turned in at time of ticket purchase. Students attending the dance must arrive between 6:45p-7:15pm. Students arriving after 7:15 will not be permitted into the dance.

It's going to be an exciting weekend -- GO LIONS!!!
