Students Captivated During Violins of Hope Concert
Students from the Brady Middle School and Orange High School Orchestras were very excited to attend the Cleveland Orchestra's "Violins of Hope" Educational Concert at the Maltz Performing Arts Center earlier this month. The students were captivated during the concert, which featured violin and cello solos supported by the string section of the orchestra. The program included compositions by Rossini, Williams, Bruch and Prokofiev. This Cleveland Orchestra program was geared for middle and high school students as music was performed in conjunction with actors from Case Western Reserve University, who presented tableaux, skits, and historical facts related to Jewish culture, the Holocaust and the powerful role that music played throughout World War II.
