County Board of Health Update

7/30/2020

Dear Orange Schools Families and Staff,

I hope this message finds you well. As you may have heard, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) released a statement today, making the following recommendations:

Begin the 2020-21 school year operating remotely due to the elevated health risk posed to students, staff and family members.

Discontinue extracurriculars such as sports, band, theater, choir and other activities during the remote learning period.

You can read their release in its entirety here. There will be a media briefing with the CCBH tomorrow afternoon at which time they will discuss their recommendations. In the meantime, I will be meeting with superintendents from across the county as well as the Orange Schools administrative team to continue discussion about next steps. The uncertainties that surround the very fluid environment created by COVID-19 continue to complicate matters, but we will remain informed and continue to communicate in the days ahead.

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through these tough times.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lynn Campbell
Superintendent
Orange City School District
