The Orange City School District community has always done a tremendous job of collecting and donating food and clothing for those in need throughout the area, especially during the holiday season. This year will be no exception.
OHS Let's Stock the Shelves! - October 30th - November 20th
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, Orange High School students are making an effort to help those who are hungry in our community by collecting food for the Garfield Memorial Church Food Pantry. The Orange High School Food Drive is a collaborative effort between our Key Club, National Honor Society, Student Government Association, and Spirit Club. It kicks off on October 30th and runs through November 20th. A donation box will be located at the front door of OHS for easy drop-off!
Items needed include canned pumpkin, canned onion rings, canned vegetables, creamy soups, stuffing mix, bread and roll mixes, brownie and cake mixes, instant potatoes, gravy, condensed milk, canned cranberries and canned fruit, noodles, cereal, mac-n-cheese, oatmeal, sauces, paper towels, cleaning products and any other non-perishable foods.
Feed the Need - November 4th-5th
Consider making a food donation while you shop! A “Feed the Need” food collection will take place at Beachwood Place during mall hours only on November 4-5, 2017. There will be a collection bin for Orange City School District shoppers and a collection bin for Beachwood City School District shoppers. When you go shopping on either of these days, please consider bringing a food donation, which will benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. They need soup, peanut butter, tuna, canned veggies, cereal, and beef stew.
Brady Middle School Food Drive - November 6th - 10th
The Brady Middle School Builders Club embodies what it means to be community service group by helping feed hungry families in our community by collecting food for the Garfield Memorial Church Food Pantry. The Brady Middle School Food Drive runs November 6, 2017 through November 10, 2017. Please donate non-perishable food items. Be sure to check food expiration dates when donating.
Mitten & Toiletry Collection - November 7th - 10th
Please help us help kids get ready for the cold weather. The Orange Elementary PTA is collecting winter clothing and toiletries to help those in need during its Mitten & Toiletry Collection efforts from November 7, 2017 through November 10, 2017.
What a wonderful opportunity for all Moreland Hills School children and their families to support one another during the holiday season. The PTA encourages families to include their children in this charitable project. The collection will reach many families within the Orange Schools community. Please help by donating winter hats, mittens, gloves, scarves (new or clean/gently used), winter coats, snow pants, new socks, gently used book bags, bar soap (individually wrapped/boxed for sanitary reasons), new deodorant, new shampoo, and hair products. Drop off will be in the school office.
Coats for Kids - November 27th - December 15th
Please help kids keep warm this winter. The Annual Coats for Kids collection will begin Monday, November 27th after Thanksgiving Break and will continue until Friday, December 15th. Search your closets for gently worn coats and jackets that no longer fit your family members. Students will collect your generous donations daily from the grade level classrooms. All apparel will be donated to the "Coats for Kids" foundation. Thank you for your support by helping keep the children of the Greater Cleveland Area warm this winter.
