Dear Orange Families,
We hope you had a nice Thanksgiving holiday break. We want to take a few moments to share some health and safety information regarding COVID-19. Even though we are fully remote right now, you can help us by adhering to the following:
If Your Child Tests Positive
Close Contact Quarantine
What does it mean to “Quarantine?”
Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others. It helps prevent the spread of the disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms. People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department and personal healthcare providers. ODH Quarantine FAQ
Isolation vs. Quarantine
Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick. Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. ODH Isolation and Quarantine Checklist
Quarantine after travel out of the country or to a “hot spot”
The Ohio Department of Health is recommending against travel to countries or states with a high positivity rate. If someone must travel, ODH is recommending 14 days of self-quarantine after leaving those locations. ODH COVID-19 Travel Advisory Information
Sincerely,
Dr. Lynn Campbell
