COVID-19 Health & Safety Update

12/1/2020

November 30, 2020

Dear Orange Families,

We hope you had a nice Thanksgiving holiday break. We want to take a few moments to share some health and safety information regarding COVID-19. Even though we are fully remote right now, you can help us by adhering to the following:

If Your Child Tests Positive
If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please contact us so that we can track the number of cases. Please see the school contact information letter

Close Contact Quarantine
If your child has been asked to quarantine due to close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, please let us know that as well. Please see the school contact information letter

What does it mean to “Quarantine?”
Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others. It helps prevent the spread of the disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms. People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department and personal healthcare providersODH Quarantine FAQ

Isolation vs. Quarantine
Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick. Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. ODH Isolation and Quarantine Checklist

Quarantine after travel out of the country or to a “hot spot”
The Ohio Department of Health is recommending against travel to countries or states with a high positivity rate. If someone must travel, ODH is recommending 14 days of self-quarantine after leaving those locations. ODH COVID-19 Travel Advisory Information

Sincerely,
