Orange Schools Wins 11 PR Awards!

Congratulations to the Orange Schools for all of the outstanding programs that the Communications Department was able to showcase!!! At the recent Ohio School Public Relations Association state convention, the Orange Schools Communications Department under the direction of Lou DeVincentis was presented with 11 Awards for outstanding achievement, including two Best of the Best Awards for photography by Staci Vincent '83.

The top two recognized photographs appear at left: one for "Threading the Tire" from the 2013 MHS Unity Day and one for "A Flip in Time" in which alumni gathered with the football team captains for the ceremonial coin toss by Shirley MacDonald '55 before the Homecoming Game (Fall 2012).


Also receiving Awards of Distinction and Excellence were the photographs "Life Imitating Art", "A Bird's Eye View", "The Thrill of Victory/The Agony of Defeat", and "Snow Much Fun" (at the bottom of this page).

Special recognition in writing earned Awards of Distinction and Excellence for "Veterans Receive Long Overdue Thank You at Brady", "OHS Students Fine Tune Music to Record History", and "MHS Students Road Trip to Inter-Dependence", written by Mrs. Vincent.

Congratulations also go to BMS eighth grader Rachel Kornbluth whose outstanding story about Challenge Day ("An Emotional Day; A Life-Changing Experience") received a Mark of Distinction in Writing, earning one of the top scores in the professional contest!!!  Rachel is the first student to receive an award of this caliber!

The Communications Department also earned outstanding recognition for its 2013-2014 calendar.  

We are grateful to the Orange Schools staff, parents and community for providing us with such incredible opportunities to showcase the wonderful 'Orange Stories' that make us so very 'Proud to be Orange!'
