Regional Heroin Summit at OHS on October 16th
The Orange City School District has announced that it will host a Heroin Summit on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 7p.m. to 8:30p.m. in the Orange High School auditorium featuring US Attorney Mr. Steven M. Dettelbach as keynote speaker. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend this informative public meeting on the growing use of heroin in our region.

An expert panel will join Mr. Dettelbach, including:
  • Mayor Kathy Mulcahy, Orange Village
  • Mr. Mike Matoney, CEO, New Directions
  • Judge David T. Matia, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court
    & Cuyahoga County Drug Board
  • Mr. Todd Bennett, School Resource Officer from the Pepper Pike Police
This event will focus on educating the community on the dangers of this growing epidemic as heroin use and fatal overdoses spread throughout the state and the nation. Heroin-induced deaths in Cuyahoga County alone have risen drastically, growing from 40 in 2007 to 194 in 2013, according to Dr. Thomas P. Gilson, Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

Please join us on October 16th at 7 p.m. in the Orange High School Auditorium at 32000 Chagrin Blvd., Pepper Pike, Ohio.
