Weltman Re-Elected, Fish Elected to Orange Board of Education
Congratulation to Mrs. Melanie Weltman and Mrs. Beth Wilson-Fish on their election to the Orange Schools Board of Education, and to the Orange Community Education & Recreation department on passing its renewal levy!
Congratulations! - Mrs. Melanie Weltman
Mrs. Weltman was re-elected to the Board of Education where she has served since 2013. She has resided in the Orange School District for almost 38 years including the past 13 years with her husband Scott and their three children – one who graduated from Orange High School and two who currently attend the Orange Schools. She is also a member of the “13 Year Club” having attended the Orange Schools from Kindergarten through high school graduation.
She is a member of both the Orange Boosters and Orange Alumni Association. She is a very active volunteer in the classroom and around campus. Mrs. Weltman also served for two years as the President of the Orange Elementary and Middle School PTA.
Welcome! - Mrs. Beth Wilson-Fish
Mrs. Wilson-Fish will begin her first term on the Board of Education beginning in January 2016. She resides in Moreland Hills with her husband Tom. Her daughter is a graduate of Orange High School.
While she is new to the Board of Education, she is a familiar face in the Orange Schools. She has 30 years of experience in education, which includes many years serving as a gifted teacher at Moreland Hills Elementary School and four years as the District’s Gifted Coordinator before she retired in 2014. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and Martha Holden Jennings Scholar. Mrs. Wilson-Fish is currently very active in several non-profit organizations, passionately advocating for students and teachers in the public schools.
Thank You! - Mrs. Angela Wilkes
Mrs. Wilson-Fish will fill the Board position currently held by Mrs. Angela Wilkes who chose not to run for re-election. Mrs. Wilkes has served on the Board since 2012 and is the current Board President.
She and her husband Dr. Gary Wilkes, have lived in Pepper Pike since 1995. Their two sons graduated from Orange High School in 2003 and 2007. Mrs. Wilkes has served on the boards of the Elementary PTA, OHS PTA, and Orange Schools Foundation. She is a member of Orange Patronaires and both PTAs. She is the Founder of the OHS Sister to Sister Program.
