Orange High School proudly presents "Little Shop of Horrors" April 7th and 8th at 7pm in the OHS Auditorium.
With a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Music by Alan Menken, this comedy rock musical follows a down-on-his-luck florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on blood and flesh. The show includes memorable songs like "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green," and "Suddenly Seymour" while one by one each character becomes plant food.
The show is directed by Jonathan Davidson with music direction by Christopher Olsen, choreography by Tali Friedman and orchestra direction by Jake Robinson. Tickets for the OHS production of "Little Shop of Horrors" are $10 at the door; student tickets may be purchased for $5 during lunch periods on Friday.
OHS Thespians are excited to present this show as its first in the Playhouse Square Dazzle Awards competition. The Dazzle Awards were set up to inspire and honor excellence in high school musical theater and to recognize the importance of musical theater and arts education within the Northeast Ohio community. A panel of adjudicators attend the production (along with others throughout Northeast Ohio), provide educational feedback on the official evaluation form, and determine nominees and awards for participating schools. The regional program culminates at the Connor Palace with the "Dazzle Awards" to recognize outstanding musical theater productions and students. The winners in the Best Actor and Best Actress category will have the opportunity to participate in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City.
