Superintendent Welcomes You to the 2017-18 School Year!
Dear Orange Parents and Caregivers,
The new banners are hung, summer work is almost complete, and the schools are gearing up for the 2017-2018 school year. It promises to be another exciting year for the Orange City School District and our families.
We embrace our obligation to prepare our students with the skills to become lifelong learners, collaborators, critical thinkers, innovators, and creative problem solvers through the various pursuits of academic knowledge. We remain committed to helping students develop socially and emotionally, and to fostering strong civic values and character.
Orange’s academics, arts, athletics, extracurriculars, student support services, community support, and sound financial management all demonstrate the high value of an Orange Schools education. Our Lead to Learn initiative includes project based learning, engineering, and real world application through access to a FabLab, MakerSpace, and other design resources throughout our campus.
Please check the District calendar for grade start dates, school schedules and various activities. I encourage you to become involved by Joining the PTAs, the Patronaires, the Boosters, O.P.E.N. or the Foundation, all of which provide active support for our schools. Be sure to keep the printed District calendar handy. Copies are available at Central Office.
Don’t forget to visit the OneView Parent Portal system that will allow you to verify the directory information we have on file for your child(ren), make changes, if necessary, and submit beginning of the year forms electronically.
We look forward to working with you to make this another successful school year!
Dr. Edwin S. Holland
