OHS Students Earn 12 Excel TECC Awards

Six Orange High School Students earned 12 Excel TECC program awards for the 2013-2014 school year. Excel TECC is a career technical consortium offering 22 unique programs whose primary objective is to prepare students to enter a four-year college, a two-year technical school or the career of their choosing.
Senior Clarke Fann earned four gold medals in Early Childhood Education from the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), including team and individual recognition at the Regional and State levels in Language and Literacy, and Early Childhood.
Senior Bradley Friedman earned a bronze medal and State recognition along with his team in Career Pathway Showcase for Information Technology and Programming. He also was named the Outstanding Student of 2014 for his program. Senior Kaitlyn Ruffin earned a Departmental Award from the Business Academy at Excel TECC. Senior Rachel Tenney earned a Departmental Award from the Visual Art and Design class at Excel TECC.
Junior Deanna Uhl earned four awards in Environmental Education, including the Excel TECC Junior Departmental Award, fourth place State team recognition in Floriculture, and first place District team recognition in Floriculture. She was also named a National Technical Honor Society inductee. Junior Raya Zimon from the Interactive Media class was named a National Technical Honor Society inductee.
Excel TECC serving the nine school districts of Aurora, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Mayfield, Orange, Richmond Heights, Solon, South Euclid Lyndhurst, and West Geauga.
