2nd Graders Combine 21st Century Learning with 18th Century Learning on Pioneer Day
October 17, 2014
Moreland Hills School second grade students recently celebrated Pioneer Day by combining their 21st Century Learning environment with an 18th Century Learning environment focused on American pioneer life, culture and history.
Students participated in authentic pioneer children's chores including weaving, tin punching, and corn husk doll making while enjoying pioneer-type food and music. The music was in collaboration with a group of Brady Middle School students who have not only participated in Pioneer Day when they were younger, but had been rehearsing folk music to help celebrate this day.
