January 26, 2017
Congratulations to Brady Middle School sixth grader Krish Mehra who will speak at the TEDxKentState event in the ballroom at Kent State University’s Student Center on February 18, 2017. He is the only presenter under 18 years old accepted to this TEDx Talk which includes 20 inspiring speakers discussing its theme of “Rewind, Rethink, React.” Tickets are available online at tedxkentstate.com.
In his speech, he will share the importance of children learning to computer program to fuel the next wave of innovation. “In the past 50 years, we have gone from using computers that filled full air-conditioned rooms, to having tablets that fit in the palms of our hands. Advances in hardware and software have led to this revolutionary innovation,” said Mehra. “When I was eight years old, I became interested in coding. Since then, I taught myself multiple coding languages including HTML, Java, Python and Swift. This has led me to create two apps that have been published on the iOS App Store.”
