OHS Mock Trial Teams Embark on 2015 Journey
January 30, 2015
All the best to the OHS Mock Trial teams as nearly 80 students representing ten teams ascend their Mount Olympus...the journey begins with the District competition today!

This year's OHS Mock Trial teams have picked "Greek Mythology" as their theme. Each team name is the name of the various Greek gods including Aphrodite, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Dionysus, Hera, Hestia, Poseidon, and Zeus and members donned clothing in colors representative of those gods. Photos of each team can be seen on our Orange Schools Facebook page by clicking here.

The students study a case and must defend a position against other schools and before a judge. Each team has four student lawyers representing the prosecution and the defense with the other team members acting as witnesses.  Today marks the first step on the journey toward the State competition in Columbus in March. Today's district trials are held in downtown Cleveland. Winning teams from this competition are invited to the regional competition in February. For the past two years, an OHS Mock Trial team has made it to the State Finals.

Good luck this year to all of our amazing student competitors!
