November 19, 2014 Each year, students in Pre-K though 12th grade are invited to submit projects that are reflective of the pre-selected theme and represent the various arts. This year's theme was "The World Would Be A Better Place If...!"
The Orange School District is proud of the more than 60 students who submitted nearly 80 entries in the annual PTA-sponsored Reflections Program and congratulates the 15 Orange students whose works were selected for first-place honors!!!
At the awards ceremony held last night in the Orange High School Commons, students were recognized for their projects which included film/video production, literature, music composition, photography, dance and visual arts. The blue-ribbon winning entries are now sent to the State Contest in Columbus. This year's event was coordinated by the members of the PTA Reflections Committee which included Laura Kochis, Missy Price, Sarah Richards and Kim Stewart. The first place winners whose works now go on to Columbus are: Tira Heiss (Dance); William Wolf (Film/Video Production); Russell Tye, Ben Pomeranets, Max Leikin and Jordan Brown (Literature); Sylvia Stewart-Bates and Isabel Sands (Music); Mia Peterman, Alex Rosenblatt and John Achkar (Photography) and Sunny Price, Katherine Lee, Katherine Jin and Carney Blake (Visual Arts).
A special thank you to OHS 9th grader John Achkar (Photography Award-Winner!) who assisted with photographing the Reflections event!
Congratulations to ALL of our amazing students who submitted entries this year!!!
