OHS Sophomores Earn eXpression Awards
Four Orange High School sophomores were presented awards earlier this month from the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions™ Language Program for their writing. Samantha Wittenberg earned a Blue Ribbon. Emily Ciuprinskas and Jack Newman both earned Red Ribbons while Brynn Kemelhar earned an Honorable Mention. The students were honored at a ceremony held on February 9, 2017 at the Global Center for Health Innovation in downtown Cleveland where their work will be displayed through March 17, 2017.
The eXpressions™ Language program is an interdisciplinary program that utilizes written communication to engage high school students in the world of scientific research. Through project-based, peer-to-peer learning, students produce literary interpretations of research conducted by Cleveland Clinic science interns. Tied to state and national academic standards, this innovative program gives participants a deeper, real-world understanding of language and science while promoting creativity, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.
