Every year as part of the physical fitness curriculum, students participate in a two-week dance unit during gym class. This year, with the assistance of grant funding by the PTA and Orange Foundation, students are experiencing 21st Century dance skills as part of that curriculum. Physical fitness teachers/coaches purchased the new Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) system to go along with the Wii Station Dance games purchased last year. Physical fitness instructor Jennifer Gold says this permits all students in grades K-5 to build up stamina, increase their heart rate level and have fun while enjoying the latest dance craze all at the same time.
