In a three-peat performance, the OHS Marching Lion Band and Lionettes returned to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a live appearance on Fox 8's 'Kickin' It With Kenny.' Kicking off Labor Day weekend, the students performed on the plaza and shared some of the songs from this season's repertoire.
The day began for the students before dawn had even broken, and the 140 students were already hard at work. They performed "Closer" and "Chained to the Rhythm" from their first half-time show, along with perennial favorites "Final Countdown," "Buckeye Battle Cry," "Salute to the Armed Forces," and "The Hey Song," among others.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame provided a great backdrop for the fabulous sights and sounds of OHS Marching Lion Band & Lionettes, under the direction of Mr. Brandon DuVall, Mr. Jake Robinson, and Mrs. Staci Vincent. Fox 8 Reporter Kenny Crumpton hosted numerous segments with the band and interviewed Mr. DuVall, the band's officers, and senior Lionettes throughout the program.
This marks the third year in a row that the band has been invited to perform at the venue. You can watch all of the segments that aired on Fox 8 by clicking here.
You can see the students perform at all Lions' Varsity Football games, both home and away. In addition, the Drum Line will perform this weekend with the OHS Cheerleaders as part of Friendship Circle's My Walk 4 Friends, and a group of the Lionettes will perform Sunday evening at 6:30pm at Salute to Orange at Orange Village Hall. The OHS Marching Lion Band has also performed at Pepper Pike's Memorial Day Commemoration event and at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans last January.
Congratulations to our Orange High School students on a fantastic showing!
