Brady Middle School students didn't let a pandemic get in the way of a good science fair! Nearly a dozen students submitted eight projects that were viewed virtually by a panel of judges. Topics ranged from "Dropping Objects" and "Skittles" to "Effects of Music." After presenting their creative projects at the virtual Science Fair in February, winners were announced via an evening Zoom program, hosted by Science Fair Advisor Mrs. Lindsay Ilcisko. There was a tie for first place: Honors went to seventh graders Sarah Korland for "The Real Quicker Picker Upper" and Anshul Sharma for "Determinants of Yogurt Making." Second place went to the sixth-grade team of Mahnoor Syed, Charlotte Bolton, and Luxi Xu for "Mission: Luminescent." There was also a tie for third place: sixth graders Owen Brownstein for "Logic Gates" and Daniel Lee for "Effects of Salt on Boiling Time and Temperature" both received honors. Congratulations to all of our student scientists who submitted work, including eighth-grader Alex Stepanyan, seventh-grader Owen Walinsky, and sixth-graders Vivaan Moghekar and Elliott Wright. Thank you to judges Bruce McKee, Robert Kodramaz, Sheli Amato, and Deborah Arnold and members of the Orange Elementary & Middle School PTA for assistance.
