OHS Student Musician Wins Competition, Will Play at Carnegie Hall


Congratulations to Orange High School junior Niranjan Girish who was recently chosen as a winner of the 2021 American Protege International Competition of Romantic Music and is invited to play his cello at Carnegie Hall in New York, New York.
Girish has performed with the OHS Orchestra, Ohio All-Star Honor Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Orchestra, and the Cleveland Institute of Music Proprietary Orchestra. He won 3rd prize at the Great Composures International music competition of Mediterranean Europe instrumentalists. He was also invited to play at the 2019 and 2021 North East Ohio Music Teachers Association’s (NEOMTA) Young Artist Recital. He earned superior ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association’s (OMEA) solo/ensemble contests and NEOMTA music festivals. Girish earned distinction for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music exams through music theory.
