OHS Students Excel in CIA Scholastic Art Competition

Congratulations to the OHS students whose 44 exceptional projects were honored in the 2022 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition! Gold Key Award winners' projects will automatically advance to National Judging. Work is selected for national recognition based on three criteria: originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal vision or voice. National awards will be announced in March. 

Congratulations also to OHS art teachers Colleen Angel, Melissa Conrad, Ryan Kerns, and Dan Whitely who inspired these talented students:  

Gold Key Awards: Jane Abounader, Piper Anderson, Stella Del Busso, Eleanor Fleming, Tira Heiss, Lillian Klinginsmith, Sofia Pristash, Margot Sanders (3), and Anna Wortzman

Silver Key Awards: Jane Abounader, Piper Anderson, Emily Frazier (2), Brianne Lipton, Regina Marzullo, Sadie Meyer, Sofia Pristash (2), Margot Sanders, and Laura Wei 

Honorable Mention: Maryam Alfalasi, Piper Anderson (5), Eleanor Fleming, Ayala Galili, Tira Heiss, Desmond Kinds, Regina Marzullo, Sadie Meyer, Madeleine Millett, Cara Myers, Annie Oeflein, Morgan Rosenberg, Kayla Schmidt, Laura Wei (2), Allie Yuan, and Nina Zargari (2). 

Projects included art portfolios, Gold Key Art by Margot Sandersceramics and glass, photography, drawing & illustration, painting, and digital art as well as poetry writing. The Award Ceremony will be held virtually this Saturday, 1/15, followed by the Exhibition Opening in Cleveland Institute of Art's Reinberger Gallery.
