ARNOLD JOINS ORANGE BOE

1/11/2022

The Orange Schools Board of Education welcomes Mrs. Angela Arnold as its newest member. The Board voted 4-0 at its January 10, 2022 meeting to have her fill an unexpired term. She will serve through December 31, 2023. Arnold will be administered the oath of office later this month.

Arnold and her husband Sean Arnold reside in Moreland Hills with their two children who both attend Orange Schools. The Arnold family has lived in the community for 17 years, including 14 years in their current home. She is a former elementary school room parent who also served on the Executive Board of the Orange Elementary and Middle School PTA and is a member of the Orange Boosters and Orange Patronaires. Arnold was selected by the Board of Education from a strong group of 18 applicants.

“I look forward to this next opportunity to make a positive impact on kids,” said Arnold. “I am very passionate about serving our community and working with my colleagues on the Board of Education to help Orange Schools be the best it can be.”

“We were so fortunate to have so many quality candidates for this school board opening, and we are excited to have chosen Angela Arnold to serve with us,” said Scott Bilsky, president of the Orange Board of Education. “Her experience and passion for our school district will be an asset as we move forward.”

Arnold is currently working for OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools, as General Manager of OverDrive Education. She received both her undergraduate degree and Master’s in Information Science from the University of Michigan. Since March of 2021, she and her husband have owned Playmatters Toys, a specialty shop that sells premier quality toys, games, puzzles, and dolls from the best toymakers from around the world.

She is completing the unexpired term of former board member Mrs. Melanie Weltman, who resigned due to her recent election to the City Council of Pepper Pike.
