ED STEPS: Planning for Student Success
Orange City Schools is committed to thoughtful, data-driven planning to ensure all students are supported and prepared for a successful future. The Education Department’s System of Tiered E-Plans and Supports (ED STEPS) is a statewide system designed to help districts assess needs, set meaningful goals, and align resources to improve student outcomes.
The two core components of ED STEPS are the One Needs Assessment and the One Plan. These tools help districts identify key areas for improvement and create strategic plans backed by measurable goals and action steps. Orange City Schools completed this process during the 2022–2023 school year and is currently monitoring progress toward three district-wide goals:
- Reducing chronic absenteeism
- Improving K–3 literacy outcomes
- Ensuring all students with disabilities graduate with a regular diploma
We invite families to review the ED STEPS Explanation for Families document below to learn more about how these goals were developed and how the district is working to support every student’s success.
