Gifted & Talented

Welcome to the Orange Schools Gifted and Talented web page. 

Gifted services are the result of the Orange Schools understanding that every student needs an appropriate education.  

Elementary:  Gifted resource teachers at the elementary school work directly with classroom teachers and students to design opportunities to meet the needs of students with accelerated abilities. Experiences are provided both within the classroom and in small groups outside the classroom.

Middle School:  Accelerated programs in math and English begin at the middle school.  Sixth graders identified in the areas of superior cognitive and/or creativity can participate in Creative Thinking classes with the gifted intervention specialist.  Seventh and eighth graders identified in the superior cognitive and/or creative areas work with the gifted resource teacher through the Independent Investigations class.
