Congratulations Kiwanis October Senior of the Month Courtney Norton

Congratulations to OHS senior Courtney Norton who has been named the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle “SENIOR OF THE MONTH” for October 2025. Courtney thrives in giving back to the multiple communities she serves through academics, arts, athletics, and philanthropy.
Courtney wears the title, “Leader” beautifully. She has served as Class President of the Student Government all four years. She was elected President of the Orange High School Marching Lion Band this year after being a three-year Symphonic Band Member, a Saxophone Section Leader, in band for four years, and helping to earn a Superior Rating at the OMEA State Competition for three years.
Elected Key Club President for her senior year, Courtney has devoted hundreds of hours of volunteer service through the Kiwanis Club and her community. She has assisted the service organization with the annual Rummage Sale, which raised $27,000 to help children and groups in our own community and around the world; she stepped in to play the “Bunny” at the annual Kiwanis Egg Roll, delighting children of all ages; and she volunteered at Convocation Day events, helping guide families of the award winners. She is currently serving as the Joe Davis Student Liaison Scholarship winner, a select honor that was bestowed on her during her junior year for her outstanding dedication to service.
Additional volunteer work includes Book Buddies, where she serves as a literacy mentor to young readers; Glamour Gals, in which she visits retirement homes to pamper women residing there; and has been an American Red Cross Blood Donor.
Her leadership prowess has not deterred her academically! The Highest Honor Roll student is a member of The National Honor Society, an AP Scholar, and has received the Ohio and Global Seals of Biliteracy.
In addition, Courtney is as active on the field as she is off it. She is a two-year Captain and four-year Varsity Basketball Letterman, having received a CVC Honorable Mention two times, along with the Most Improved Award. She has also earned the Most Coachable and Most Important Player awards. Courtney is a four-year Varsity Lacrosse Letterman and two-year Captain, receiving the Offensive and Midfield Player of the Year awards. And she is a one-year Varsity Soccer Letterman.
Courtney has worked as an OCE&R Lifeguard and at Adrenaline Monkey, ensuring the safety of children throughout. She is also a member of Ruling our eXperience (ROX), which is a national nonprofit designed to empower young women. Courtney plans to major in architectural engineering in college.
Every school year, the Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle recognizes six seniors for their leadership, integrity, and academic achievements. We thank the Kiwanis Club for its ongoing support and congratulate Courtney Norton as the October Senior of the Month!
