The Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle celebrated the close of the 2025–26 school year with its annual dessert reception on May 19, 2026, at the Orange Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Hosted by Club President David Smercina, the event honored Orange Schools students and staff recognized throughout the year. Six Orange High School Seniors of the Month were celebrated: Ishan Bhatt, Mark Buckley, Adler Chefitz, Aanya Chepyala, Sarah Korland, and Courtney Norton. The Club also recognized the 2025 Orange Schools Staff Members of the Year, including Sara Bargiel, Courtnay Cirino, Jim DeYoung, Mary Endsley, and Chuck SantaMaria. Another highlight of the evening was the announcement of Orange High School student Iain Pickett as the recipient of the 2026–27 Joe Davis Kiwanis Club Student Liaison Service Scholarship. Pickett follows Courtney Norton, who was honored as the award recipient in 2025-26.

Those in attendance included students’ families, members of the Orange Schools staff and administration, and Kiwanis Club members and officers. Smercina closed the reception by thanking attendees and inviting everyone to support the Club's work in the community by visiting the annual Rummage Sale, scheduled for July 16–18 this summer.
